Stripes again; mjölk = milk

Emroidery inspired of milkpackages. When I was sorting the garbage I realised how much milk my family is drinking, (I don´t drink milk at all).
The colors of the stripes signals the different types of milk. The red one is the "Standard" fat milk, the blue one is the "Lightmilk" and the green one is the "Middlemilk". Even if one by another brand of milk the colors often are the same.
I have been working for a while with the milkpackages, and over a year and a half there have been small, sometimes very, very small changes in the layout that I would never seen if I havn´t really been studied them.

And for part two in this "dubble-moly" comes a digital collage made from packages for "Minimjölk"(=minimilk) whith thin yellow stripes and just 0,1 % fat...

My art work tend to talk a lot about the struggle to run a life with work, family and being an artist at the same time :) I like the Swedish expression "Kitchen sink realism" -- This is my theme nowadays

Dear friends! Here comes a few more letters of my ABC-book. The technique is collage and ink and the theme...well, to be or not to be. The two clocks on the left above the letter P are from a "baby´s first book" from when I was born. My mother filled in the exact time of my birth on the left clockface. The little sun below indicates that I was born in the daytime. The right clockface is emty and can in this context be interpreted as the time of my death, not yet written... /Lisa

The Swedish word for "lace" has also the same meaning as the word "top, skill,excellence" Top skill competence = lace competence..(?).. The word "SILVER" pops up when you open the Moly. Collage technique: gold paint, crochet, embroidery & paper pop up.

Here is a landscape with expression from scrapbooks. I´ve found symbols in the advertising and on products. I saw this swedish flags besides products from Bauhaus and it was no explanation why it is good because it was a swedish supplier. Ok, the drill (it was a drill) has not carried so far from here.

Hello, finally I´m finnished with the picture in Maria´s book about the climate.
Here I have done a paraphrase from an old symbol I was growing up with. Håll Sverige rent. It's still of great importance in the foundation "Håll sverige rent".
Now I know why I should keep going to the gym, I must build sronger embroider-muscles.

Hello! Here comes my drawing in Marias climate-theme moly-book. The climate-change is frightening and storms are some of the obvious consequences. It is an image of chaos, what it would be like if the worst thing would happen...and it is happening already in different parts of the world...

It started when I spilled coffee by accident on the fabric and after that I made some more spots and a hole on purpose and I really enjoyed making it. Hello Mollyfriends!

I must start to Love the SaintPaula flower! Why? Because I can´t hate them. I baught one and then I bought once more. When i grow up I hated them. I have been hated them since September this year. I have always hated them. I told my mother I hated this ugly common flower who you can find everywhere. If I hate them they come after me trying to make me love them.

I took care of my nieghbours flower for the second summer this year. She has a lot of SaintPaulas. They forced me to love them.

There are a lot of other things in my life I must start to love too. Otherwise they will come after you!

Fallen apples in my garden

Hallo friends! This is Lottas moly. She started with a painting inspired by old textiles. When I´ve made this picture I´ve been thinking of tapestry and painting.
It´s also a septemberpicture from my garden. Lots of fallen apples, to many to be able to eat them all.
It´s made with watercolorpencils and akrylicpaint on plastic sheets, fastened with eyelets.

Finally I have completed my work in Carinas book and will post it tomorrow to you, Lotta! The first picture is a piece of embroidery on fabric. Inspired by Elizabets beautiful image of a kitchen sink, I also made a scene from a kitchen, almost a mirror image but not as pleasant. Home sweet hell, home as the scene of a crime. Is the women drowning herself in the sink or just washing her hair? The second picture is also a piece of embroidery but on paper. I left the threads uncut and unfastened. /Lisa

In this moly with a climate-theme I have done two pictures about the pollution of the Baltic Sea - my neighbour! In the textile part the macroperspective and in the paper part the microperspective. Nodularia Spumigena is one of the cyanobacterials that causes the toxic bacterial bloom that prevent us from swimming in the sea the hotest days in the summer. "I LOVE Östersjön" (=I LOVE the Baltic Sea) is the name of an exhibition at the local museum about the Baltic Sea.

This is also a two-part Moly with a fabric part and a paper part.

I was inspired of the title of Carinas drawing in her moly and had the chance to do an embroidery I´ve been thinking of for a long time. As a mother of three children i spend a lot of time in the kitchen and there I see new still lifespass on the kitchen sink every day.

In the drawing I started with a piece of an old wallpaper from my grandmothers house. It reminded me of the crocheted wallpaper Carina is showing in her blogg, so it is a kind of homage to that one.

Then the drawing and the emroidery have influenced each other...

Recycling in the Theme climate Moly

Maria's Theme climate Moly:
It's one part paper & one part fabric in this Moly. I worked from a couple of sentences. On the embroidered "drawing" it sais in Swedish: "Eating organic, recycles the morningpapers and buying fairtrade".
Last sentence: "but it's still a rainy summer..."

The embroidery showes empty childfood jars with an organic brand from Denmark called Hipp, which you end up with hundreds when you have an infant (very environment friendly....not....and it has traveled all the way from Denmark to Sweden...).
Drawing of pills and text: "hight levels of anti anxiety drugs in the Stockholm tap water" and "are you feeling happier lately?"

Technique: drawing and collage. Pencil, Copic marker, white opaque, ink and Stabilo.

The Vision

In Elisabet´s book I have made a collage of old photos, a triptyke about two people getting the same vision, a rainbow. I´m inspired by renaissance painting, in which for example the golden colour often represented the heavenly light, a light without shadows, but as I find Earth much more fascinating as a subject I chose silver as the colour of the frames. The colour of silver, here symbolises the earthly light, absolute presence and worship of nature. But above all, the images are about faith, having faith in yourself.

Hello Mollyfriends!

Ok, then It was time to send Lisa´s Moly to Maria. I Have worked at the same

line like Lisa did. I liked the idea of cards so I continued with that theme. And of course I drawned in black and white. I have been inspired by positive affirmations and positive thinking, like I need in my life right now.

I have make the pictures larger this time, so now we will see if they are larger in the web.

but now I´m ready.
This became the Gold, Silver and Lace - moly. That will bee the theme for this book. I know some people don´t like gold, silver and lace and think its ugly and too much... but I can´t resist it... but someway I can understand the opposite. You, my Moly-friends can do absolutly what you like whith that theme. Hate it or love it or both or ... just do something!

I painted the pages white again :)... but now they are bit more "destroyed" and I like it better that way, whith some texture and "dirt". The picture is painted in acrylic and pencil.

I will post the book to Lisa today. And now I can start with that lovely little book with the fabricpaper and suchi in it (Carinas Moly). I get hungry when I look in it so maybee I follow up the suchi with someting else to eat...

Hello there,
Finally I am on my way with this project! I posted my book today! My book is an ABC-book about life from an existential /everyday perspective. In the first two drawings in the book I have chosen to draw in a symbolic way, images from my imagination that represent scenes from my life as it is at the very moment. I wanted the pictures to look like some kind of playing cards, like Tarot cards or something that has to do with destiny or prophesy.
I can´t wait to have Elizabet´s book in the mailbox so I can make my next drawing...to be continued /Lisa

I´m a cross-stitch lover and I can´t make art without that particular stitch shows up somewhere... I also like images of diagrams,curves, statistics...

My projects and artworks are more sculpture/installation like - the size of Moly is small and a challange, a funny one:)

The "demand" in my book is theme climate.

The picture above is a printed collage. I´m found of weather studies and like to work with one-year-projects. The idea with action over time with starts and ends also includes reflexions of persevering.

My moly has two parts; one part with the normal paper to drew on and one part with a long piece of fabric to make something textile on.
I have started with a comic type drawing of my "not so glamorous week" with title: "En diskbänksrealistisk vecka". If I translate this Swedish expression to English it would be close to; A kitchen-sink-realistic week :)

Just wanted you to know I'm on my way whith the moly. I started to paint my sides yellow to get rid of the scary white! I'm not sure how to continue this. I normally work in different materials as beads, cloth, wood, metal and thread so I'm a bit nervous whith just paper and a pen.

Hello all Moly X artists and interested friends of the world! We are the moly_x_16 group. An all Swedish group.
My name is Carina (IngerC) I'm an artist, webdesigner and a spare time crafter from Stockholm.
Was doodling today and came to the conclusion that I will sew in a long piece of white fabric in my book so my moly_x_16-friends can make something with tread (or what they want) also. Haven't tried it yet but I imagine that my Moleskine is going to be thick and travel in a box instead of a Jiffy :-)

This group, founded by Inger Carina (Sweden), is an extension of the Moleskine Exchange. This blog will follow the adventure of a group of Swedish artists, in a Japanese fold Moleskine sketchbook exchange.

Each artist will set off with a small Japanese (accordian) folded Moleskine. Creating a drawing, collage, or painting, then send on to the next artist. Each artist will draw on a couple of spreads (3-4 pages) then send it on to the next artist. When the artists book is filled, it will be returned to the owner with images created by artist around the world. Each artist has a month to make an entry. The outcome will be a pleasant and surprising adventure, as artists are encouraged to interact and merge their art with others.

The concept:

1. The artists start with the Japanese fold Moleskine - Name, address, email address written in book.

2. Each artist gets 1 month to make a sketchbook entry, and mail it to the next person. The order is listed to the right.

3. Each artist will do 3-4 pages each round.

4. Artists are encouraged to interact with other images in the book. Please be respectful.

5. When the book is full, when one side of the unfolded book is filled, the book will be sent back to its original owner. That artist may continue by buying a new book and sending it to the next person.

6. If a person decides not to continue, she will simply keep her book when it comes back to her. She should email all of the participants to say she is not going to continue. We will decide, then, if we want to find a new person.

7. Please communicate regularly via email. Let each person know that you have received/sent the book. The goal is to have a dialogue. Any comments and questions are welcome.
